Stuffed mushrooms with cream cheese and MEALUP Black Truffle
Jump to recipeThese stuffed mushrooms are ready in 35 minutes and give you 16 g of protein per serving. The filling is cream cheese and garlic, and MEALUP Black Truffle goes on straight out of the oven. An elegant appetizer that needs no fancy technique.
The mushrooms soak up the flavor of the filling as they bake, and the caps stay juicy as long as you don't overbake them. Two bites are enough to get dinner off to a good start.
MEALUP Black Truffle goes on as soon as the mushrooms come out of the oven, while they're still warm. Truffle flavor opens up best on warm food, so it stays out of the filling during baking.

Preparation
- Clean the mushroomsWipe the mushrooms with a damp cloth without soaking them. Gently twist out the stems so the caps stay whole.
- Make the fillingFinely chop the stems. Mix them with the cream cheese, grated garlic, salt and black pepper until smooth.
- Fill the capsBrush the outside of the caps with the olive oil and arrange them in a baking dish. Fill each cap with the cream cheese mixture.
- BakeBake at 190°C for 18 to 20 minutes, until the mushrooms are tender and the filling is lightly golden on top.
- Sprinkle and serveTake the mushrooms out of the oven. Sprinkle them right away with the chopped parsley and 2 servings (60 g) of MEALUP Black Truffle, which is ½ serving (15 g) per person. Serve while still warm.
Tips
- For a deeper truffle flavor, let the mushrooms sit for 2 minutes after sprinkling before you serve them.
- No cream cheese? Use curd cheese (izvara) mixed well with a little olive oil.
- Pick mushrooms of the same size so they bake evenly.
- A lovely bite for welcoming guests, with a glass of white wine on the side.
- Want more protein? Use a full serving (30 g) per person. Each plate then has about 25 g of protein.
MEALUP Black Truffle goes on right after baking, while the mushrooms are still warm. Truffle flavor opens up best on warm food, which is why it stays out of the filling during baking.
Protein is calculated from USDA FoodData Central and the MEALUP label (21 g in 1 serving).
